James Whitfield

Professor, Dartmouth College

James Whitfield graduated from Morehouse College with a BS, and obtained his doctorate in chemical physics from Harvard in 2011. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Vienna, he is now an assistant professor in the department of physics and astronomy at Dartmouth College. His research interests include the study of compression techniques for quantum systems, and addressing the longstanding question of what today's quantum computation can tell us about fermionic systems of applied interest.
