The Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing is supported by a grant from the Simons Foundation. We collaborate with industry through our Industrial Partnership program, which currently includes Google, Microsoft Research, VMware and NTT. Our research activities have have received support from numerous grantmakers, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), National Security Agency (NSA), Kavli Foundation, Templeton Foundation, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and Paul G. Allen Family Foundation. We partner with various Academic Partner institutions around the world for our Research Fellowships program. We also welcome contributions from private individuals.

The Simons Institute also welcomes contributions to the Richard M. Karp Fund, which honors the scientific contributions of Founding Director Dick Karp. The fund provides vital support for the mission and activities of the Simons Institute.
