Organizers:

Michael Kearns (University of Pennsylvania; co-chair), Jennifer Neville (Purdue University; co-chair), Deepak Agarwal (LinkedIn), Edo Airoldi (Harvard University), Ashish Goel (Stanford University), Matt Jackson (Stanford University)

Many of the more interesting massive data problems involve data that are at least partially graphical; these include social networks, hyperlinked text, images, web graphs, protein networks and spatial data. This workshop will bring together researchers with interests in large-scale networks from computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics, physics, and other disciplines. The central theme is the interplay between theoretical models for large-scale networks and their dynamics (e.g., diffusion, financial or strategic dynamics), and methods for the empirical and experimental validation of those models.
