Trusted Execution Environments Meet the Blockchain
Friday, October 25th, 2019, 11:00 am–11:45 am
Speaker:
Ittay Eyal (Technion)
Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) allow users to run code and prove they have run it correctly and without visibility into its internal state. TEEs prove extremely useful for open decentralized blockchain systems, as demonstrated by several recent works. However, TEEs are neither perfectly secure, nor perfectly available, making such applications appropriate in some, but not all scenarios. This talk will demonstrate the effectiveness and risks of combining TEEs and blockchains.
