Experiments with Integer Linear Programming in Computational Biology
Thursday, June 29th, 2017, 11:30 am–12:10 pm
Speaker:
I have been exploring the hypothesis that the best integer programming solvers can largely be used as push-button black boxes for many significant problems in computational biology. If so, ILP would become a more accessible tool for biologists without a deeper background in computation and programming. The experimental results are generally positive, but with some exceptions. I will report on these results and outline future experiments.
