Yaoyun Shi is the founding director of Aliyun (Alibaba Cloud) Quantum Laboratory (AQL). He is building an international team to realize the revolutionary potentials of quantum information technologies. Yaoyun received his Bachelor’s degree from Peking University in 1997 and his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2001, both in Computer Science. After a postdoctoral scholarship at Caltech’s Institute for Quantum Information, he joined the computer science faculty of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
