Shishi Luo
Postdoctoral Scholar, UC Berkeley
Shishi Luo completed her PhD in mathematics at Duke University with Katia Koelle, Jonathan Mattingly and Mike Reed. She is interested in stochastic processes and their application to evolutionary biology. In her doctoral research she developed a measure-valued process formulation of selection at multiple biological scales and used a hybrid stochastic-deterministic model to study influenza evolution. Currently, as a postdoc at Los Alamos National Laboratory with Alan Perelson, she is building simulation-based models to investigate the development of broad anti-HIV antibodies in humans as part of a consortium research effort to find an HIV-1 vaccine.
