Sepideh Mahabadi
Mahabadi is currently a Senior Researcher at the Algorithms group of Microsoft Research, Redmond. She received my PhD in Computer Science, at the Theory of Computation (TOC) group at CSAIL, MIT with Piotr Indyk as her advisor. For a year, she was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Simons Collaboration on Algorithms and Geometry based at Columbia University, hosted by Alexandr Andoni. She then spent three years as a Research Assistant Professor at Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC), 2018-2021. Prior to MIT, she received her B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran 2007-2011.
Her research is mostly focused on Theoretical Foundations of Massive Data including High Dimensional Computational Geometry; Streaming and Sub-linear Time Algorithms; Data Summarization; Graph Algorithms; Metric Embeddings; as well as Social Aspects of Algorithms for Massive Data including Diversity Maximization and Algorithmic Fairness.
