Michal Derezinski

Michal Derezinski is currently in the fifth year of his PhD at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he is advised by Professor Manfred Warmuth. Michal develops efficient data sampling techniques with applications to learning theory and optimization. Prior to attending UCSC, he completed Master's degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Warsaw. He has interned at a variety of Silicon Valley research labs, including Microsoft, Yahoo! and eBay, working on projects ranging from online learning to large-scale distributed optimization.
