Marine Le Morvan
Marine Le Morvan is a second year PhD student in the center for computational biology at MINES ParisTech, supervised by Jean-Philippe Vert and Andrei Zinovyev. After two years of preparatory classes, and an intensive mathematics and physics program, she matriculated at the Ecole Polytechnique, France’s highest ranked engineering university. There, Marine developed strong interests for both machine learning and biology, and obtained her master’s degree in 2014. The algorithmic challenges set by genomics drive her research, as well as the underlying biology and the applications to personalized medicine. Her main ongoing project deals with the integration of cancer mutations with gene-gene interaction graphs to stratify cancer patients into meaningful subgroups, and predict patient outcomes.
