Jonathan Hauenstein
Jonathan Hauenstein is an assistant professor in the Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Notre Dame. His research is focused on numerically solving systems of nonlinear equations. Hauenstein joined the faculty of Notre Dame in the fall of 2014 following a tenure-track position at NC State, a postdoctoral position at Texas A&M, and research stays at both the Fields Institute in Canada and the Mittag-Leffler Institute in Sweden. He earned his PhD in Mathematics in 2009 from the University of Notre Dame under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Sommese. Hauenstein received a DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2013 and a Sloan Research Fellowship in 2014, and is an active member of both the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematicians (SIAM).
