Jaroslav Nešetřil
Jaroslav Nešetřil is a professor of mathematics at Charles University Prague. He received his PhD there after studying in Vienna and at McMaster University in Hamilton. His longer visit include holding the John von Neuman Chair at the University of Bonn, and visits to the University of Chicago, UPC Barcelona, SFU Vancouver, Bell Laboratories and the Theory Group at Microsoft. Nesetril is founding director of DIMATIA Centre and Institute of Theoretical Computer Science, both at Charles University. He has been an invited speaker at both IMU (Hydarabad) and EMC (Amsterdam). He holds two DR.h.c. degrees and is a member of 4 academies at home and abroad. He is the author of more than 300 scientific papers and several books, including Invitation to Discrete Mathematics (jointly with J. Matousek), which has been translated into several languages.
