Boris Shapiro

Boris Shapiro completed his PhD thesis in 1990, under the advisory of Vladimir Arnold. Since then Boris has held visiting positions at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Northeastern University, and Purdue University. In 1993, Boris was a lecturer at Stockholm University, which turned into a professorship in 2001. He has published over 100 papers and has advised seven PhD students. His major research interests include different aspects of univariate and multivariate polynomials, combinatorics, Schubert calculus, commutative algebra, and linear code.
