Bela Bauer

Researcher, Microsoft Research, Station Q
Bela Bauer is a researcher at Microsoft Research Station Q, located on the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He joined the group in 2011 after finishing his PhD with Matthias Troyer at ETH Zurich. He uses computational approaches to strongly correlated many-body systems, in particular tensor-network state methods and DMRG, to study the exotic phases that arise in such systems. Examples of his recent interests include topological and gapless quantum spin liquids and many-body localization, as well as the ways a quantum computer could be applied to solve relevant problems.
