Arya Mazumdar is an associate professor in the College of Information and Computer Sciences, an adjunct professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and affiliated with the Center for Data Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is on leave from UMass now at Amazon AI and Search at Berkeley, CA. His research interests are foundational aspects of data science and machine learning, error correcting codes (coding theory and related combinatorics) and information theory.
