Alexander Edmonds

University of Toronto

As an undergraduate, Alex attended the University of Toronto as part of the Mathematics Specialist program, where he was enamored with foundations of mathematics: undecidability, sets, hydras. Fate has since led him towards computer science theory and machine learning. He completed his MSc at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Dan Roy, on the subject of the computational complexity of probability distributions and the relevance of various notions of efficient samplability. He is now pursuing his PhD at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Sasho Nikolov and Toni Pitassi on topics in differential privacy.
